There is a HUGE reduction in wind buffeting.

I had some serious issues with the Indian factory shield. There was so much buffeting that it was really hard to even see when speeds exceeded 50 MPH. It really sucked the life out of a ride. The new 24” shield is certainly thicker than the factory and you can just sense the quality. Logged several hundred miles on the new shield and can say that there is a HUGE reduction in wind buffeting. I certainly recommend this product!

Your shield has eliminated the buffeting and shield vibration.

Just installed my 24″ shield on my 2018 Scout.  Assembly and Installation were a piece of cake. Took it for a 40 mile test ride and am very happy with it.  I detected little or no difference in turbulence from 45 to 100 mph so I will need to rely more on my speedometer from now on 😉. Your shield has eliminated the buffeting and shield vibration I experienced with the standard Indian shield.  With the stock shield, my helmet was buffeted so badly that I had trouble reading traffic signs at higher speeds. I offer the following in case it helps others decide which Freedom size to select: I am 5’9″.  When seated, I measured 33″ from a flat wooden bench to the center of my eye.  I have the stock seat and reduced reach handlebars so now I am able to ride relatively upright. The top of the 24″ Freedom shield is approx. 2 inches below my level sight line. I wouldn’t have wanted the shield any higher in my vision and at first, I was nervous that I should have selected the 22″ however, on the road I didn’t find any problem seeing over the shield.  I returned home and peeled off the plastic. Assuming they have the stock Scout seat, I would advise anyone with a seat to eyeball height less that my 33″ to consider the 22″ shield but believe I would have selected the 24″ if I would have had the opportunity to try both.

Buffeting is gone, just clean air around the helmet

First test ride with my Freedom shield tonight, 24inches high, replacing the OEM medium height shield. I am six feet tall and have the 1920 sport saddle installed. All head buffeting is gone, just clean air around the helmet and grossly decreased wind noise. Bike is much more stable up to 70mph, where the front end still starts to feel a bit light. An extra bonus was that after a rain shower hit me at speed my gloves remained dry on their outside

Far better than factory and honestly better than any shield on any other bike I’ve owned or ridden.

First and foremost, what sets Freedom Shields apart from the competition is the customer service provided at all levels. They discussed my needs for over 20 minutes prior to my ordering. A follow-on call about laser engraving took at least another 15 minutes. Not once did I feel as if I was being rushed or pressured to hurry my questions along. I also encountered a problem once I received my shield (the incorrect image had been engraved). A quick phone call sorted the problem and John had it shipped back and fixed ASAP at his cost. The windshield itself is extremely well made and stable at speed. Light years better than factory. The optical clarity is astonishing. Far better than factory and honestly better than any shield on any other bike I’ve owned or ridden. The laser engraving is very crisp and deep enough that I’m not worried about it fading away. I ended up purchasing the 24 inch shield. Even at 5’6” I found the smaller sized to give me some helmet buffeting. In all honesty part of that is due to the Bell helmet I wear. Due to the way the shield is curved I can still look over the top if I sit up straight. Personally, I’d suggest buying larger rather than smaller.

The most effective windshield I have ever used on a motorcycle

I want to congratulate you and your team for creating the most effective windshield I have ever used on a motorcycle. I didn’t get the size right the first time, but you exchanged it no problem. I’m 5’ 8”, your 22” windshield is perfect for my Indian Scout. Thanks much, I’ll be sure to remember you for my next windshield when Indian makes the bike.

I can actually enjoy riding at highway speeds again without the blurred vision from all the buffeting like I had previously.

Just wanted to say thanks for the quick correspondence this past winter in regards to the new windshield for my scout. Still, lots of snow here in Alberta but we had some unusually warm weather this past week which cleared the roads. I was able to test out the new 22 inch shield a couple of times and it is so much better than the stock mid shield I replaced. What a difference! I can actually enjoy riding at highway speeds again without the blurred vision from all the buffeting like I had previously.  For reference, I’m 5’9 and the 22 inch sits right between my nose and chin which is perfect. Will definitely recommend you guys to anyone looking to replace their stock shield.

The air pocket is now a smooth enjoyable breeze instead of a turbulent nuisance.

3 years and 4 windshields later I finally tried a Freedom Shield from John. All of my buffeting problems that I had spent time and money to make go away went away instantly. The air pocket is now a smooth enjoyable breeze instead of a turbulent nuisance. Do yourself a favor and skip all the rest and just call John. You won’t be disappointed!

The wait for my 18″ Freedom Windshield for my Road King was worth it.

The wait for my 18″ Freedom Windshield for my Road King was worth it. The package arrived undamaged and flawless. Immediately installed, all holes fit, the optics convinced me. Great. After the first ride, I was thrilled. The buffet was almost gone. Thanks for the great work and support.  I will gladly recommend you further. Attached is a picture of my RK with Freedom Windshield 18″.
