I just wanted to let you know I love my new windshield and the design has made riding a much more pleasurable experience. The bike performs much better, there is less buffeting and wind resistance, and the bike is much easier and safer to handle. I also love the fact that the shield does not block my vision and I can see over the top. Thank you for making a great product. These shields should be installed at the factory. The factory shield in my opinion makes the bike unsafe due to vision and instability caused by wind catching the shield like a sail. I’m very satisfied and give this product a 5 star rating. Thanks!

This Freedom Shield is GREAT! I chose the 12 inch dark tint to match my Springfield Darkhorse. I tested it out yesterday on the way to work traveling 55-60 mph. Then I rode the I-10 on the way home traveling 75-80 and the ride was outstanding. I’ve been riding for over 20 years now and have gotten annoyed with wind noise over time. Not to mention the bugs at 75+ mph. So, I flip flop between half and full face. Anyway, there were 3 times I saw a bug catch the top flare of the windshield and just sailed over the top of my head. Because riders out there know that if you see something during that split second….it’s going to sting like bitch….haha. I told a friend of mine that rides a Chief Darkhorse to definitely check out the Freedom Shield!
Shield arrived today, everything ok. Coming home from work, immediately changed brackets from stock shield to freedom shield. I knew what to do, because I did it several times before, and my beloved wife was a great help for me while installing! And now it took only some minutes to the first test ride. My result 👍👍👍 Never ever had a better wind protection than this. The quality is gorgeous! It looks fantastic and gives the bike kinda more sporty shape, so finally, everything came to my full satisfaction! Thank you again, also for the perfect smooth transaction of this business! So my 2019 Sport Glide has one major complaint….damn windscreen….I do a load of highway riding including to California several times a year from my residence in near Banff, Alberta. HD dealers, consumers alike have expressed their concerns to HD about the lack of proper wind protection. The two-three inch pence of plastic from the factory just doesn’t cut it (no pun). HD then decided to offer a 5.5-inch aftermarket shield…equally as useless….enter Klock Werks an expensive 7-inch screen, very pricey and only moderately better. Got tired of owning 3 windshields, none of them effective so I decided to purchase a 4th (a man can never have too many windscreens mate) FREEDOM SHIELDS out of Colorado USA 12 inch, easy install. Works amazing….I can now ride with an open face helmet with sunglasses without my face being blown off. Does not negate the lines of the bike…extremely functional and of course easy to remove for cleaning etc. Just thought I would pass this on 2 u so u may be able to recommend to others what a great fix this is for the confounding lack of wind protection on the FLSB. PS- There is a reason you will never see a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrist’s office. Ride safe Alf!
Thanks again for a really cool upgrade. A serious piece of equipment. Certainly, an upgrade from stock. I ordered the 11” medium smoke for my challenger. When it arrived, I immediately installed it, which only took about 5-10 minutes. Included were some helpful instructions (which I didn’t read until after…). The quality of the craftsmanship is second to none. Beautifully polished edges and zero distortion looking through the shied (which was only visible after removing the protective film for the test ride). The shield is very thick. It reminds me of an aircraft canopy. I rode down the street and immediately noticed a difference from stock. The shield in the lowest position is much like the stock was in the highest position. Then I jumped on the freeway and the Freedom Shield really shined. Within a few miles I was convinced that this was a Keeper. I will say that with the shield in its utmost raised position I have to look through it. Having the film on there made this difficult but I liked what was going on. I took the exit and removed the film then got back on the freeway. As I rode down the freeway at about 80 mph, I made further observations. There was literally zero buffeting. Even with my helmet visor opened all the way, I was in this little peaceful bubble of calm tranquility. With my stock windshield I couldn’t leave my visor up. The wind would buffet so bad it, it would shake my helmet and sunglasses so bad it would be hard to see. But now, even on this particularly windy evening, I was cutting thru without even noticing. It was getting dark outside yet looking through the medium smoke was effortless. I then turned on the stereo and was pleasantly surprised by an unexpected benefit. My music was super loud and perfectly clear. Even at speeds around 80. I wasn’t expecting that. Before, I’d have to leave the volume all the way up to hear it on the freeway. With the Freedom Shield on, my music is clear and hella loud at level 4 (stock not upgraded audio system) Awesome bonus feature of the Freedom Shied. Bottom line- this is an amazing upgrade from stock. I can’t say enough good things about it, and I highly recommend this to anyone in the market. And the price is very reasonable. I’m still on the fence about how the 11” looks on my bike. I almost wish I would have gotten a shorter one just for looks alone. Also- I didn’t know until after I ordered that Freedom Shields offers laser engraving and have some seriously awesome looking designs. If I could do it all over, I’d get 9” in dark smoke with some laser engraving. One last thing- the website says their lead times are 2-3 weeks. On the third week to the day- I got an email saying my shield was on the way. Two days later it was at my doorstep. Awesome!
The freedom shield is far superior to any other shield I’ve ever used. High quality and craftsmanship and lack of distortion. No matter how I look, over or through it, it doesn’t distort my view. The lines of the shield really compliment my road glide special. I can hear my pack talk and radio over 40 mph where before I couldn’t hear anything but wind. Talking with John was a pleasure. He responded quickly to my phone calls and is very professional. I told John that I’m 6ft tall with 34″ inseam and what kind of bike I had (2017 Road Glide Special). He suggested the 13″ shield and it is perfect. I can see at least 2″ over the top and the wind just hits the top of my helmet, all wind buffeting gone. Arrived well packaged and I was amazed how thick and strong it was compared to the stock shield. I definitely would recommend the freedom shield not just for road gliders but to everyone. My first thoughts after installing the shield and going for a 200 mile ride was Holy Sh!! This thing is great. I Love it. Thank you John and company for making a superior shield.
I received my 12” Dark Grey Sport Touring shield today for my 2019 CVO Road Glide and wasted no time installing that bad boy. I must say as all the other comments do, the craftsmanship is impeccable, and it looks really nice on the bike, this is definitely not a “cookie cutter” made shield. I really like that the windshield is very solid and almost feels as if it’s an extension of the fairing. I am 5’9” with a 30” inseam and the 12” glass is perfect on this particular set up. I’m definitely promoting your product to anyone looking for a new windshield! 😉 Thanks again for a quality product.
John, I can’t tell you how pleased I am with how things transpired. I am in the customer service business too, and pleasing customers is a talent and can be a chore, but you may be one of the best customer pleasers I have come across. From your personal phone calls to consult me on what I needed, to helping me complete the process with expedited shipping to Canada, all was over the top service. Tracy needs an honorable mention as well. Thanks guys! Now the product. I have had a few Harleys and more than a few windshields (embarrassed to say how many windshields at a few hundred dollars a pop), and none come close to the windshield purchased from Freedom. I have a condition called tinnitus (ringing in the ears), so wind buffeting is brutal on my hearing. Every Harley with every windshield I have ever had necessitated me wearing some type of ear plug or cotton due to the buffeting. I was so stoked when I received my new 13″ Freedom windshield for my newly acquired 2018 Road Glide Special, that right after I installed it, I jumped on and went for my test ride with the protective plastic still on. Damn it I forgot my ear protection! Guess what, I didn’t miss my ear protection at all. Going down the highway at 120 kmph (70 mph) I barely had any buffeting or wind! And hearing my stereo at that speed was also a new experience. Pulling back into my driveway my ears were not driving me crazy as they normally would have even with plugs! And lastly the appearance and quality are fantastic. Heavy construction material, great fit, and looks GREAT! Thanks again John.
